this popped into our inbox. and whoa bro! reminds me a lot of the first time i heard The Presets. Glasnost [glasnost on soundcloud], out of h-town, has the same kind of vibe, but this is much fresher. enjoy!

Glasnost is a four piece electro-pop band pulling references from early 80’s bands like Duran Duran, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Cure. The guys started off writing all original work, but Brandon Duhon (DJ Cuba Gooding Jr) and Dan Le both DJ and produce remixes on the side, so in their free time they like to play around with some of their favorite tracks.

‘Great Divide’ was Glasnost’s first EP, released in the Spring of 2009, right before SXSW. As part of the release the band did a remix contest. The top three winners were featured on the EP: Trash Yourself, Kids at the Bar and Culture Prophet.

We released ‘No Survivor’ back in Sept. as a teaser to Glasnost’s next album. They guys have finished composing the album, they are in the process of tracking, mixing and mastering now. We hope to have an official single released by the end of the summer.
